The distance from the bottom
In the quiet depths of the ocean, the octopus thrives, perfectly adapted to the shadows and currents. It glides silently through the water, hidden from view, living freely in the timeless expanse of the deep, where the light of the surface is but a distant memory. Forever bound to the mysteries of the sea, it moves effortlessly as part of the ocean itself.

Alphabet. Poster
The poster features an alphabet that I created. This custom-designed font showcases my creative approach to typography, blending artistic elements with the beauty of nature. Each letter is crafted with care and precision, offering a fresh and visually appealing style. The poster serves as both a work of art and a typographic exploration, reflecting my distinctive design vision.

The Mouse. Poster
In a peaceful meadow by a sparkling stream, Miko, a curious mouse, discovers a vibrant flower. Intrigued by its scent, he gently sniffs the petals, while the calm water flows nearby. In this serene moment, the mouse, the flower, and the water come together, celebrating the quiet beauty of nature.
From Pencil Sketch To Digital Illustration

Holy Cheese
Viktoriya, an artist with a quirky love for cheese, started with a simple pencil drawing of a golden wheel of cheese, bathed in a mystical glow. As the image took shape, she saw the potential for something more. Inspired by her sketch, she transformed it into a vibrant digital illustration, adding color and life to the whimsical concept. “Holy Cheese” became a playful tribute to creativity, humor, and the magic she found in everyday things, immortalizing the cheesy charm in her artwork.

In the Fabulous Forest
In the heart of the Fabulous Forest, a wolf, a crow, and a hedgehog with a red fly agaric mushroom in its paws wandered through the enchanted woods. The wolf moved silently between towering trees, while the crow kept watch above. As they ventured deeper, they discovered shimmering spruce, pine, and fir tree needles, accompanied by the hum of hidden magic. With every step, the forest revealed new wonders, promising endless adventures for the trio in its mystical, ever-changing depths.
Pencil Drawings

The Girl with Big Eyes
The Girl with Big Eyes was born one quiet evening when Viktoriya felt inspired by the power of expression. Sitting by the window as rain tapped softly on the glass, she began sketching a face, focusing on creating large, expressive eyes that would convey wonder, mystery, and emotion. With each delicate stroke of the pencil, the girl’s face slowly took shape, her eyes growing more intense and filled with unspoken stories. Viktoriya poured her own emotions into the drawing, capturing the beauty of vulnerability and the strength found in a simple, heartfelt gaze.

Dual Career is Exhausting (Fin. Kaksoisura uuvuttaa)
This article, written by Ida Kannisto, discusses the tough challenge of balancing sports and academics for student-athletes, as highlighted by a study from the University of Jyväskylä, which found that many are at risk of burnout. Lotta Eerola, a champion orienteer, and Iivari Räsänen, an aspiring ice hockey player, both experience the pressures of managing intense training and schoolwork. Through setbacks and learning to pace themselves, they remain focused on their goals.
Illustrations by Viktoriya Mikhaylova accompanying the story capture the physical intensity and mental resilience of athletes, with one drawing showing a runner mid-stride, and another reflecting the quiet determination behind their journey. Despite the challenges, their commitment to both sports and academics drives them forward.

Challenges
A key challenge was balancing aesthetics and functionality while customizing the WordPress theme to align with the exhibition’s vision. I had to ensure the layout, typography, and image optimization provided a visually appealing and seamless user experience across all devices.
Another challenge was collaborating with the project team, ensuring clear communication and aligning everyone’s input. Customizing the website to accommodate specific features like artist bios and gallery layouts required complex adjustments in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
Lastly, creating training workshops for content input was challenging, as I needed to simplify the platform for users without technical expertise. Despite these obstacles, the project allowed me to refine my web design and development skills while delivering a lasting platform for the exhibition.
